The amount dental braces cost Toronto depends on the type of braces you need.
The average runs from $3,000 to $7,000 nationally.
Types of braces and their costs
First, your orthodontist will determine which braces will best suit your needs whether they are traditional style or invisible braces.
The traditional style is much smaller and more comfortable than ever before so do not be afraid if the orthodontist says that invisible braces will not work for you.
The invisible style or clear aligners will generally run you from $4,000 to $7,500 and while they have their advantages for some; most people will not qualify for these types of braces.
The ceramic style works like the traditional metal braces but can be adhered to the teeth with clear or teeth coloured brackets. These will cost from $ $4,000 to $8,000, slightly higher than the metal braces.
Your Toronto dentist will decide which type of braces will best suit your individual needs.
Most dental insurances will pay for a portion of braces per child, about 50% of the cost of your braces, up to a certain limit such as $1,500.00 lifetime per child.
Once you are past the age of 18 most dental insurances will not cover braces anymore; which, is why it is ideal to have braces done in the teenage years.
You will need to consult with your dental insurance beforehand so that you know how much of the cost they will pay. Then speak with your dentist (orthodontist) about your budget so that you will be able to get the work done that needs to be done with the best possible solution for your teeth and budget.
